Git integration is restoredResolved Jul 1, 2026 · 22h 58mResolved

The incident is now resolved. --- [2026-07-10T13:53:23.846Z] (monitoring) We've resolved the issue affecting GitBridge and the service is back to normal. We're sorry for any disruption this caused. As part of recovering the service, we restored the Git integration from a backup taken shortly before the disruption began. Commit history up to that point was preserved, however changes made through the Git integration in the short window between that backup and the start of the incident could not be recovered. No project data was lost. Your documents, files, and project history within Overleaf itself were not affected.  If you were working with your repository during this time, you may find that your local copy and the version on our servers have diverged. The simplest way to get back on track is to perform a fresh clone of your repository, which will give you a clean, synchronised version of your project. Before you re-clone, we'd recommend keeping a copy of your current local repository in a separate location. This means that if you made any changes during the disruption, you'll have them available to review and copy into your freshly cloned version afterwards. If you'd prefer not to re-clone and are comfortable with Git, you may be able to resolve any discrepancies manually by fetching the latest state and rebasing your local commits — though if you're unsure, the fresh clone is the safer route. If you run into any persistent issues after re-cloning or attempting a manual rebase, please use our contact form to get in touch with us: https://www.overleaf.com/contact --- [2026-07-02T08:03:02.799Z] (investigating) We are still investigating the issue. --- [2026-07-01T13:47:49.581Z] (investigating) The Git integration functionality is currently down. Investigation is on going.

Overleaf Status FAQ

Is Overleaf down right now?

PulsAPI checks Overleaf every 60 seconds. The verdict at the top of this page comes from the latest poll of the official Overleaf status feed and refreshes automatically, so you are not looking at a stale cached answer.

What should I do if Overleaf is not working?

Check the component list on this page first to see if your failure matches a known outage. If it does, you can report the issue for other engineers, follow the incident timeline for vendor updates, and run any fallback your app supports until Overleaf recovers.

How do I check Overleaf uptime history?

PulsAPI tracks Overleaf uptime over 30, 60, and 90-day rolling windows. The current 30-day uptime is 100.00%. A free PulsAPI account unlocks the full 90-day SLA history and incident timeline for Overleaf.

How fast does PulsAPI detect Overleaf outages?

PulsAPI polls the official Overleaf status page every 60 seconds and usually delivers alerts to Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, or email in under 4 seconds after detection. That is often faster than someone on your team notices on their own.

Does PulsAPI track individual Overleaf components?

Yes. PulsAPI monitors 5 individual Overleaf components, so you can see which service or region is affected instead of a generic "service degraded" banner.

Can I get alerts when Overleaf goes down?

Yes. Create a PulsAPI account and subscribe to Overleaf. Email alerts are included on the free Starter plan. Paid plans add Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, and webhooks whenever Overleaf status changes.

How do I report an issue with Overleaf to the community?

Click "Report an issue" at the top of this page, pick the issue type and severity, and optionally add your region and a short note. Reports are anonymous and help other engineers spot Overleaf problems early. Official status pages often lag real incidents by 10 to 20 minutes.

Is there a free way to monitor Overleaf?

Yes. PulsAPI's Starter plan includes up to 10 monitored services with email alerts, and the 30-day free trial requires no credit card. You can monitor Overleaf alongside up to 9 other services at pulsapi.com/signup.
