[SM-237] SmartDC (SMT) Edge Switch MigrationScheduled for Aug 6, 2026 · 8h 0mScheduled

The scheduled maintenance has been successfully completed --- [2026-08-06T09:00:09.036+02:00] (in_progress) Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. We will provide updates as necessary. --- [2026-08-06T08:00:30.863+02:00] (scheduled) Maintenance will begin as scheduled in 60 minutes. --- [2026-07-31T15:17:06.413+02:00] (scheduled) On Thursday, August 6, AMS-IX engineers will perform the PE migration at SmartDC (SMT, Van Nelleweg 1, 3044BC Rotterdam) by replacing the current Extreme SLX9540 with a new Juniper ACX7100. The migration plan consists of the following high-level steps: 1. Installation of the new Juniper ACX. 2. Migration of the first backbone link and integration with the NL platform. 3. Migration of all customer connections one by one from the Extreme SLX9540 (edge-smt-022) to the new Juniper ACX7100 (edge-smt-025). 4. Migration of the second backbone link, integration with the NL platform, and full integration of the new switch. While the whole maintenance activity extends across a longer time window, customer impact is expected to be limited to Step 3, between 10:00 and 12:00 CEST, for approximately 15 minutes per customer. The port will go down during the move to the new switch, and AMS-IX engineers will make every effort to minimise any disruption. Please note that provisioning for this site will be frozen from August 5 at 14:00 until the end of the maintenance window. AMS-IX NOC will only handle urgent changes related to MAC addresses and Q-tags for requests sent to noc@ams-ix.net. AMS IX Status FAQ

Is AMS IX down right now?

PulsAPI checks AMS IX every 60 seconds. The verdict at the top of this page comes from the latest poll of the official AMS IX status feed and refreshes automatically, so you are not looking at a stale cached answer.

What should I do if AMS IX is not working?

Check the component list on this page first to see if your failure matches a known outage. If it does, you can report the issue for other engineers, follow the incident timeline for vendor updates, and run any fallback your app supports until AMS IX recovers.

How do I check AMS IX uptime history?

PulsAPI tracks AMS IX uptime over 30, 60, and 90-day rolling windows. The current 30-day uptime is 100.00%. A free PulsAPI account unlocks the full 90-day SLA history and incident timeline for AMS IX.

How fast does PulsAPI detect AMS IX outages?

PulsAPI polls the official AMS IX status page every 60 seconds and usually delivers alerts to Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, or email in under 4 seconds after detection. That is often faster than someone on your team notices on their own.

Does PulsAPI track individual AMS IX components?

Yes. PulsAPI monitors 20 individual AMS IX components, so you can see which service or region is affected instead of a generic "service degraded" banner.

Can I get alerts when AMS IX goes down?

Yes. Create a PulsAPI account and subscribe to AMS IX. Email alerts are included on the free Starter plan. Paid plans add Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, and webhooks whenever AMS IX status changes.

How do I report an issue with AMS IX to the community?

Click "Report an issue" at the top of this page, pick the issue type and severity, and optionally add your region and a short note. Reports are anonymous and help other engineers spot AMS IX problems early. Official status pages often lag real incidents by 10 to 20 minutes.

Is there a free way to monitor AMS IX?

Yes. PulsAPI's Starter plan includes up to 10 monitored services with email alerts, and the 30-day free trial requires no credit card. You can monitor AMS IX alongside up to 9 other services at pulsapi.com/signup.
