Autoupgrade for Umbraco CMS 17.6.0 and 18.1.0Scheduled for Aug 6, 2026Scheduled

**Update: today's automatic upgrade to Umbraco CMS 17.6.0 has been cancelled.** We've found a breaking change in 17.6.0 that can leave a site in a broken state after upgrading, so we're holding the rollout. The issue stems from the UUI library, which was updated in this release. Sites running Umbraco Commerce below version 17.1.11 are known to be affected, but other packages depending on UUI may be impacted as well. Details on the Commerce issue and how to resolve it: <https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco.Commerce.Issues/issues/868> We're preparing a patch, and that version will be the next one rolled out automatically on Umbraco Cloud. We're currently aiming for 17.6.1 next Tuesday. --- [2026-08-11T06:00:00Z] (maintenance_in_progress) Maintenance has started --- [2026-08-06T13:40:21Z] (maintenance_scheduled) Umbraco Cms 17.6.0 and 18.1.0 has been released and will automatically be upgraded on projects running 17.x, and 18.x and have automatic minor upgrades enabled. Increased number of hanging automatic upgrades on Umbraco CloudResolved Jul 29, 2026 · 21h 50mResolved

This incident is now resolved. The issue affected a small number of projects during automatic upgrades, where an upgrade could become stuck without completing. Around 2.7% of attempted upgrades were affected, and some of these completed successfully despite showing as stuck. We have added new monitoring to detect this behaviour earlier, and a fix is being rolled out ahead of the next round of automatic upgrades. If you believe your environment was affected, or an upgrade appears stuck in future, please reach out to our support team and we will resolve it for you. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. --- [2026-07-29T12:33:31Z] (identified) We have identified the cause of the increased number of hanging automatic upgrades. An issue in our upgrade orchestration can cause an upgrade to become stuck without receiving a completion status. Affected upgrades do not fail, but their activity may continue running and the environment can report as busy for other operations. As a short-term measure, our support team can cancel stuck upgrade activities to unblock affected environments. If your environment appears busy or an upgrade seems stuck, please reach out to support and we will resolve it for you. A fix that handles these cases more gracefully is ready and is expected to be rolled out within the coming week. We will post a further update once it is deployed. --- [2026-07-29T12:33:03Z] (investigating) Some customers may experience hanging upgrades on their Umbraco Cloud projects.

We're monitoring closely to confirm this remains stable and to understand the underlying cause. If you experienced a failed or timed-out deployment earlier, please retry it now. We'll confirm resolution shortly. --- [2026-06-03T09:27:32Z] (investigating) We're currently investigating an issue affecting deployments for projects hosted in the **UK South** region. During this time, deployments may time out or fail to complete. Live websites are not affected and remain online. This is limited to the CI/CD pipeline. Our team is actively working to identify the cause and restore normal deployment performance. We'll post a further update shortly.

Umbraco Status FAQ

Is Umbraco down right now?

PulsAPI checks Umbraco every 60 seconds. The verdict at the top of this page comes from the latest poll of the official Umbraco status feed and refreshes automatically, so you are not looking at a stale cached answer.

What should I do if Umbraco is not working?

Check the component list on this page first to see if your failure matches a known outage. If it does, you can report the issue for other engineers, follow the incident timeline for vendor updates, and run any fallback your app supports until Umbraco recovers.

How do I check Umbraco uptime history?

PulsAPI tracks Umbraco uptime over 30, 60, and 90-day rolling windows. The current 30-day uptime is 100.00%. A free PulsAPI account unlocks the full 90-day SLA history and incident timeline for Umbraco.

How fast does PulsAPI detect Umbraco outages?

PulsAPI polls the official Umbraco status page every 60 seconds and usually delivers alerts to Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, or email in under 4 seconds after detection. That is often faster than someone on your team notices on their own.

Does PulsAPI track individual Umbraco components?

Yes. PulsAPI monitors 20 individual Umbraco components, so you can see which service or region is affected instead of a generic "service degraded" banner.

Can I get alerts when Umbraco goes down?

Yes. Create a PulsAPI account and subscribe to Umbraco. Email alerts are included on the free Starter plan. Paid plans add Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, and webhooks whenever Umbraco status changes.

How do I report an issue with Umbraco to the community?

Click "Report an issue" at the top of this page, pick the issue type and severity, and optionally add your region and a short note. Reports are anonymous and help other engineers spot Umbraco problems early. Official status pages often lag real incidents by 10 to 20 minutes.

Is there a free way to monitor Umbraco?
