Stripe Uptime History
Daily uptime recorded by PulsAPI over the last 90 days, with the days that carried a Stripe incident marked. Each day is measured from our own checks, so the record continues even when the vendor publishes nothing.
Going further back: Stripe uptime by month and every recorded Stripe outage.
What to Do When Stripe Is Down
Stripe rarely fails as a whole. It fails in parts, and the parts matter enormously: the API accepting charges is a different question from webhooks being delivered, which is different again from the Dashboard loading, Radar scoring, or payouts running on schedule. A payments outage where the API is fine but webhooks are delayed looks like a bug in your own reconciliation logic.
During any Stripe degradation, the first thing to protect is idempotency. Retrying a charge without an idempotency key during an incident is how a partial outage turns into duplicate customer charges. If your integration does not send one on every write, that is the highest-value thing to fix and it is worth doing before the next incident rather than during it.
Webhook delays deserve their own handling. Stripe retries failed deliveries, so a delivery gap during an incident usually resolves itself. But if your system treats webhook arrival as the moment of truth, orders will appear stuck. Reconciling against the API rather than waiting on the webhook is the durable fix.
Stripe Status Page vs PulsAPI
Stripe's status page is one of the better ones: genuinely component-level, updated promptly, with real incident history. There is not much to criticise about it.
What PulsAPI adds is context outside Stripe. A payment flow that breaks during a Stripe incident is often also touching an identity provider, a fraud tool and a CRM, and the question in the first two minutes is which of them moved. Watching Stripe alongside the rest of the stack answers that in one place, which one vendor's status page cannot do however good it is.

Problems reported by engineers using Stripe. Reports often appear 10 to 20 minutes before the official status page moves, and stay on this page for 90 days.
