Connecting Your Stack

Use the onboarding wizard to subscribe to the services and components your team relies on.

Connecting Your Stack

After creating your account, the onboarding wizard helps you subscribe to the cloud and SaaS services your team depends on. This takes about 30 seconds.

"Subscribing" to a service means PulsAPI will show its real-time status on your board and can send you alerts when incidents occur. PulsAPI monitors status pages automatically — you don't need to provide API keys or credentials for the services you track.

The 3-step onboarding wizard

Step 1: Pick a preset stack

The wizard presents preset stacks — curated bundles of commonly used services grouped by use case. Examples:

PresetIncluded services
AWS CoreEC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, Route 53
Modern DevGitHub, Vercel, Netlify, Supabase
ObservabilityDatadog, PagerDuty, Grafana Cloud, New Relic
Full StackAWS, GitHub, Datadog, Vercel, Cloudflare
Google CloudCompute Engine, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud SQL
CommunicationSlack, Zoom, Twilio, SendGrid

Select one or more presets, or click Start from scratch to hand-pick every service individually.

Step 2: Review individual components

Each service is made up of components — for example, AWS has EC2, S3, Lambda, and dozens more. In this step you can:

  • Expand any service to see its components.
  • Toggle components on or off — subscribe only to the parts you actually use.
  • Add more services from the full directory using the search bar at the top.

This gives you fine-grained control so your board isn't cluttered with components you don't care about.

Step 3: Confirm and subscribe

Review your selections and click Confirm. PulsAPI will:

  1. Add all selected services and components to your personal My Board.
  2. Begin showing real-time status for each.
  3. Enable default alert rules (you can customize these later in Alerts & Notifications).

Modifying your subscriptions later

You are not locked into your initial selections. At any time you can:

  • Go to All Services in the sidebar to browse the full directory of 200+ services.
  • Click any service to view its components and toggle your subscription on or off.
  • Remove services from your board by unsubscribing.

Changes to your subscriptions take effect immediately. New services appear on your board right away, and removed services stop generating alerts.

Next step

Now that your stack is connected, take a quick tour of the interface: Navigating the App.
