Navigating the App

A tour of the PulsAPI interface — sidebar, header, and main content area.

Navigating the App

PulsAPI's interface is organized into three main areas: the sidebar, the header, and the main content area.

The sidebar is your primary navigation. It contains the following sections:

SectionWhat it shows
All ServicesThe full directory of 200+ monitored services. Browse, search, and subscribe.
My BoardYour personalized dashboard showing only the services you've subscribed to.
GroupsCustom groups you've created to organize services (e.g., "Production", "CI/CD Pipeline").
TeamsYour team workspace — shared boards, members, and team-level alert settings.
Performance & SLAUptime percentages, historical trends, and SLA compliance reports (Pro plan).

On mobile devices and narrow browser windows, the sidebar collapses into a hamburger menu. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner to open it.

The header bar runs across the top of every page and includes:

  • Search — A global search bar to quickly find any service, component, or group by name. Results appear as you type.
  • Notifications bell — Shows unread alerts and incident updates. A badge indicates the number of unread notifications.
  • User menu — Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner to access:
    • Account settings
    • Billing & plan management
    • API keys
    • Theme preferences (light/dark mode)
    • Sign out

Main content area

The center of the screen displays the content for whichever section you've selected in the sidebar.

My Board view

Your default landing page after sign-in. It shows:

  • Status cards for each subscribed service, color-coded by current status:
    • Green — Operational
    • Yellow — Degraded performance or partial outage
    • Red — Major outage
    • Gray — Unknown or not reporting
  • Active incidents pinned at the top with timestamps and severity.
  • Quick filters to narrow the view by status (e.g., show only services with issues).

All Services view

A searchable, filterable directory of every service PulsAPI monitors. Click any service to see its components, current status, and recent incident history. From here you can subscribe or unsubscribe.

Group view

When you click into a group, you see only the services assigned to that group. Groups are covered in detail in Custom Groups.

Team view

Shows your team's shared board, member list, and team alert configuration. See Teams for more.
